A pecan orchard located in the El Paso Lower Valley with trees evenly spaced 9.15 m apart was chosen for this test. Thirty trees of mixed variety were assigned 6 treatments (5 trees/treatment) in a completely randomized design. Foliar application was made on Sep 8 with a gasoline-powered backpack mist-sprayer (Vandermolen KWH 66). Each treated tree received a total of 3.78 1 solution making the rate of application 452.33 1/ha. Aphid counts (10 compound leaves/tree) were taken on 6 dates.
