Carrots were planted on May 7. Plots were arranged In a randomized complete block design with 5 replications. Replications 1-3 were in the bed nearest the windbreak (source of infestation) and replictlons 4-5 were in the second bed. Each plot consisted of one 7-row bed by 30 ft long. Plots were sprayed on Jun 13, 20, 27; Jul 11, 18, 25; Aug 1, 8, 15, 27; Sep 17, with a tractor-mounted boom sprayer at 20 gpa (early in season) or 40 gpa (beginning Jul 11). A 10 ft section from the middle row of each plot was harvested on Sep 24, damaged and undamaged carrots from each plot were counted am weighed.
