Four insecticides were applied to selected foliage plants and phytotoxic effects were determined. The insecticide-plant combinations were: KnoxOut 2FM and Vydate 2E - croton, fern, ivy, and orchid; Ficam 76W - croton, fern, ivy, orchid and ficus; Pounce 3.2E - fern, ivy and orchid. Materials were applied at IX, 2X and 4X concentrations (1X = 8 oz ai/100 gal) until runoff with a 5-gal sprayer at 60 psi; water pH was 6.75. Each concentration was applied to 5 mature plants per species with 5 plants serving as a control. After application, plants were located on greenhouse benches; temperature ranged between 26.7-36.0°C. The materials were applied on Aug 19 and Sep 18 to the same plants. Data on phytotoxicity were recorded weekly for 8.
