On Aug 18 container grown azaleas ‘Hino Crimson’ were transported to a site of heavy weevil populations near Franklin, Virginia and treated with 4 insecticides. Insecticides were applied to the foliage using a 1 gal B & G compressed air sprayer at 30 psi. Plants were treated to runoff. Leaves were examined on Sep 4 for damage from adult feeding. Temperature was 72°F at time of treatment. Rainfall from Aug 18 to Sep 4 was 4.54 inches, and fell from Aug 19 to 23. No phytotoxicity was observed.
