Stoneville 213 cotton was planted Apr 17 at the Tennessee Valley Substation of Auburn University at Belle Mina, AL. Plots were ca 1 acre arranged in a randomized complete block design rep)icated 4 times. Insecticides were applied Jul 14 with a high clearance sprayer delivering 10 gpa, at 40 psi with 3 nozzles/row. Plant bugs were counted using the “shake cloth” method, sampling 6 row-ft at 2 or 3 sites in the center of each plot. Plant bug populations were evaluated 4 days prior to treatment and 2, 8 and 14 days post-treatment.
