‘Superior’potato seed pieces were planted 10 In apart in 25 ft rows on 36 in centers in sandy loam soil on Apr 18 ‘80. In-furrow treatments were applied in a 6 in band with wheel-driven Noble applicators attached to a two-wheeled bicycle sprayer operated at 2 mph. Sidedress treatments were applied May 29 with a hand shaker 4 in out from the plants on each side of the row and lightly incorporated. Colorado potato beetles were counted on May 29; damage evaluation was determined by percent defoliation on Jun 16 and 25. Plots were harvested on Jul 15.
