This test was conducted in a 16 year old Bing cherry orchard. Multiple applications of Mesurol had been applied the previous year and preceding tests on this year. As a result, high spider mite populations were present at the beginning of the test while predatory mite numbers were low. Plots consisted of 4 single tree replicates arranged in a completely random design. Plots were sprayed to the point of drip with a hand gun at 400-500 psi. Leaf samples consisting of 25 leaves per tree (100 leaves/plot) were collected weekly. Leaves were brushed with a mite brushing machine in the laboratory onto a glass plate. Mites present on the plate were counted with a microscope, converted to mites per leaf and recorded.
