Sprays were applied to three-year-old ‘Narragansett’ alfalfa at the West Virginia University Reedsville Experiment Farm on July 10 with a John Bean tractor-mounted hydraulic sprayer with a 6 m boom, tank capacity 189 liters, pressure 2.1 kg/cm2 and calibrated to deliver 243 liters/lia at a tractor speed of 5.6 to 6.4 km/h. Treatments were replicated four times in a completely randomized design, using 12 x 18 m plots with 6 m alleys between rows for tractor access. Samples were collected by vacuum machine.
