All plants were planted May 15-18fh on 40 in beds. Three cultivars were used, GP 3774 in the spray test, Lankart 57 in the in-furrow test and Cascot B-2 in the two-rate Orthene test. All plots were replicated 4 times with 4-row plots in the in-furrow and 8-row plots in the spray test. The insecticide sprays were applied with a hi-boy sprayer at the rate of 10 gal/acre. In-furrow insecticides were applied with disc openers and John Deere insecticide boxes.
