Treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design with 4 replications. 'Bush blue lake' snapbeans were planted into Holston silt loam soil on May 11. Plots consisted of single row treatments 10 ft long, 40 in. wide with seeds spaced 3-4 in. apart. Three granular insecticides were applied in a 6 in. band and incorporated 2-3 in. into the soil on May 11. Ten foliar insecticides were applied to run off at 30 psi with a “back-pack” CO2 pressure sprayer on Jul 8. Visual counts of leafhoppers were made Jul 11, Jul 15, and Jul 18.
