Two numbered compounds, UC 55248 and Fison NC 22683, were compared with Kelthane for control efficacy of the citrus red mite on lemons during Apr and May at the Curtis Half and Half Ranch on mesa, Yuma, Arizona. Sprays were applied Apr 3 with a spray gun (pistol-type) and John Bean Sprayer using 300 gpa or 5 gal/tree and 40 psi. Four-tree plots were replicated 3 times in a randomized block design. Mite counts in the table represent both immature and adult stages. Sampling consisted of 25 leaves selected at random/plot. The precount on Mar 27 indicates a moderate infestation which varied slightly within the test area.
