Three concentrations of Highway Plant Spray, a soap designed for washing ornamental plants, were applied with handguns as drenching sprays to 10-yr-old Bartlett and d'Anjou pear trees heavily infested with pear psylla nymphs. Plots were sprayed twice, on Jul 5 and 17. Each plot consisted of 4 single-tree replicates laid out in randomized blocks. Nymphs were counted on the top 5 leaves and the stem of 5 shoots collected at random from each tree. Data were subjected to analysis of variance and means were separated using Duncan's New Multiple Range Test.
