The test site was located near Beltsville, Prince George's County, Maryland. First cutting of alfalfa had been removed 7-8 days prior to treatment. At time of treatment on May 21 damage to the regrowth was severe. Adult pre-counts averaged 11 per sq ft. For treatment evaluations, four random sq ft samples were taken with a D-Vac from each plot and the number weevils recorded for each sample. Treatment plots 20 × 20 ft were arranged in a randomized complete block design with 4 replicates. Sprays were applied with a “Back-pack#x201D; CO2 pressured sprayer calibrated to deliver 10 gpa at 40 psi. Post treatment counts were made May 24.
