‘Gallatin Valley-50’ beans were planted with a cone seeder in 20-foot rows on 36-inch centers on Jun 15 at Arlington, Wl, and Jun 19 at Hancock, Wl. Twenty double-row treatments, baited with meat meal were arranged in a randomized complete block design with 4 replications at each location. The soil type was Carrington silt loam at Arlington, Wl, and Kellner sand at Hancock, Wl. The seeding rate was 9 seeds per foot of row.
