The alfalfa var Saranac AR stand was 3 years old and nearing full bud stage of development at time of treatment. Tip damage levels varied from 30-50% within the test area and precounts average 6 larvae/10 stems. Treatment plots were 10 ft x 10ft and arranged in a randomized complete block design with 3 replicates. Precounts and treatments were made on Apr 30. Sprays were applied with a “back-pack” CO2 pressure sprayer calibrated to deliver 25 gpa at 32 psi. Post treatment counts were taken on May 3 and 9. Larval counts were based on two 10 stem samples taken at random within each plot.
