Seed pieces were planted 4 in. apart in marl soil Nov 2‘77. The plots were single rows, 30 ft long, planted on 3 ft centers. Treatments were applied Dec 28 and replicated 4 times in a completely random design. Applications were made by hand with a CO2 charged 2½ gal sprayer with a single nozzle at the rate of 100 gal water per acre. Apterous aphid counts were made 2, 7, 15 and 21 days post-treatment. The aphid population was normal size. Means were separated by Duncan’s multiple range test.
