‘Russet Burbank’ seed was planted April 16 in Ritzville silt loam soil at Yakima, Washington, in plots 2 rows wide (34 inches apart) and 50 ft long. On June 26 insecticides were applied in 40 gallons of spray/acre with a 2-row, backpack, CO2 hand sprayer. Each treatment was replicated 3 times in a randomized complete block design. Twenty compound potato leaves were collected from each plot 3, 7, and 14 days after treatment (June 28, July 2, and 9), and the number of aphids was counted. Data were transofmed to log 10 (X+l) and subjected to analysis of variance.
