Each insecticide treatment was applied to 5 citrus trees (tree height ca 8 ft) by a hydraulic sprayer as a dilute solution sprayed to drip. Two hours after treatment, field-collected adult weevils were caged on sprayed trees, 5 weevils/cage. Weevil mortality counts were made after 1- and 3-day exposure. Additional cages were added at 3, 6, 9, and 12 days posttreatment when an insecticide demonstrated residual activity. Tests were conducted in September-October, the period of peak weevil activity.
