Experimental EL-436 alone, and tank mixed with NR 440 spray oil, were compared to standard acaricides for efficacy against CRM. Treatments were randomly assigned to 3 × 3 (9 tree) plots and replicated 2 times in a 4-yr-old grapefruit orchard on 18 ft × 24 ft spacing. All treatment applications were made on 30 May with an FMC 1229 FTM air blast sprayer with nozzeling, pressure and speed adjusted to apply 250 gal/acre. All live CRM were counted in 2, 1-cm2 lens fields at 10 × on the shaded side of each of 50 fruit randomly selected in the middle tree row of each test plot. The 2 counts/fruit were combined and recorded as on observation.
