Mature commercial pear trees in the Sacramento River delta were treated with aearicides using a hand-held orchard sprayer operating at 200 psi and delivering 400 gal/acre of finished spray. Trees were arranged in a randomized complete block design with 7 treatments replicated 4 times. Buffer trees were utilized between each experimental unit (tree) in the row. All materials were applied on 29 Jun. Twenty-five leaves were removed weekly from 28 Jun through 25 Jul. The leaves were brushed and active mite stages counted under magnification.
