Selected foliarly-applied insecticides were evaluated for control of turnip aphids in fall planted canola near Plains, Ga. Canola was planted on 27 Oct in 7 inch rows in plots measuring 5 × 20 ft. Spray treatments were applied at full bloom on 15 Mar using a COa-powered backpack sprayer equipped with No. 4 flat fan nozzles which delivered 27.5 gal/acre. Treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design with 4 blocks. The percentage of aphid infested stems was measured before and 5 DAT by inspecting 100 stems/plot. Plots were harvested with a small-plot combine on 31 May and yield was adjusted to 8% moisture content. Grain test weight also was measured.
