The test was conducted in a block of mature trees near Rock Island, Wash. The experimental design was a randomized complete block with 4 single-tree replicates. Treatments were applied to the point of drip on 31 Jul with a handgun sprayer operating at 400-500 psi. Rates were based on a dilute application of 400 gal/acre. Mite populations were assessed weekly by collecting 25 randomly selected leaves from each tree, brushing them onto glass plates with a mite-brushing machine, and counting mites.
