This test was conducted to evaluate 4 insecticides against a late-season TSSM infestation. Peanuts planted 11 May were treated by the cooperating producer 15 Aug with Pydrin 2.4 EC for an early-season corn earworm infestation. Treatments were applied on 14 Sep with a conventional, 4-row sprayer with 3 D2-23 disk-core hollow-cone spray nozzles/row, at 4.2 kg/cm2 and delivering a volume of 140.3 liters/ha. A randomized complete block design was used with 2 replicates. Individual plots were 4 rows (0.9-m spacing) by 11.0 m. Infestations of TSSM were evaluated prior to (0 DAT) and at 1, 5, and 9 DAT by comparing counts of mites on 40 randomly selected leaflets. Yield from 9.2 m of row/plot was expressed as weight of whole pods with 10% moisture content.
