A cooperative trial with Sigco Research was planted at a location near Crookston, Minn. Plots consisted of 6- to 15-inch rows 20 ft long. Treatments wer originally arranged in a randomized complete block. However, an error in treatments required comparison of 3 regimes replicated 8 times. The relative rigor of the comparisons, the paucity of data, and the fact the Furadan CR-10 had not been tested in Minnesota before 1987 encouraged us to publish the trial The Furadan CR-10 was planted on 10 Apr with the seed using a cone-type 6-row planter. Moisture was very short in these finely textured soils. Folia applications were made on 19 May when seed was approximately 30% germinated. The foliar was broadcast at 40 psi, using a hand-held COa sprayer applying 17 gal/acre.
