Thirty-year old apple trees were sprayed to run-off by handgun operating at 200 psi. Test plots! consisted of 4 single tree replicates arranged in a randomized block. Except for Guthion 50WP (3 cover sprays at 1.25 lb/acre each) and fungicides (CyprexJ Bayleton), no other insecticides were applied in the test orchard. Treatments were evaluated at 1- to 3-week intervals through the season by brushing 100 leaves (25/tree). On each tree, leaves were sampled on 3 scaffold limbs from the center to the periphery of the canopy.
