6 insecticides were sprayed on fall webworm nests, Hyphantria cunea (Drury), located in persimmon trees, Diospyros virginiana L. Selected trees were growing along roadsides near Auburn, Lee Co., Alabama. Test materials were applied 5 Aug to active webworm colonies by spraying individual webs and surrounding foliage with hand-pumped, compressed-air sprayers to runoff. Chevron spreader-sticker was added to all spray mixtures at the rate of 0.5 pt/100 gal. Treatments were replicated 3 times with each colony constituting a replication. Efficacy of test materials was determined 7 days posttreatment by removing the colonies from trees and counting the number of live larvae.
