Insecticides were applied preplant incorporated (PPI) on 15 May in Gadsden Co., FL on Ruston fine loamy sand. Sweet potato slips were transplanted on 22 May 12 inches apart in 36 inch rows. PPI treatments were applied with a C02 backpack sprayer delivering 25 gal/acre at 30 psi. Granular layby treatments were applied on 31 Jul in 12 inch bands over the row with a ground driven gandy. Treatments were replicated 4 times in a randomized complete block design and each plot consisted of 6-row x 30 ft. Early data was taken 15 Sep from row 2 and harvest data was taken 29 Oct from the center 20 ft of rows 3 and 4.
