White-nose syndrome is a fungal disease that has killed millions of hibernating bats. One symptom is electrolyte depletion. We tested whether providing an electrolyte supplement, a potentially simple and cost-effective conservation intervention, to hibernating bats would reduce disease severity. The treatment was not effective and may have increased fungal growth.
