‘Aristotle’ peppers were transplanted 11 May at the Horticultural Crops Research Station in Sampson County, North Carolina. Plots consisted of 12 rows 10 ft long on 42-inch centers replicated four times in a RCB design. Alleys of 5 ft were used between replications. Treatments were applied with a CO2pressurized backpack sprayer using a single hollow cone nozzle (18X) operating at 60 psi to deliver 54.5 gpa. Applications were made on 25 Jun, 1 Jul, 8 Jul, 15 Jul, and 26 Jul. Peppers were harvested on 1 Jul, 12 Jul, 23 Jul, and 29 Jul. The number of marketable fruit was recorded. European corn borer and green stink bug damage also was recorded. Data were subjected to ANOVA and means were separated using LSD (P ≤ 0.05).
