The study was conducted in a commercial walnut orchard near Visalia, CA on 3-year old trees. Six treatments were replicated six times in a RCB design. Each replicate consisted of an individual tree. There was a buffer row in each direction from the experimental trees. Treatments were applied on 10 Jul with a hand-held orchard sprayer operating at 200 psi and delivering 37.5 gpa of finished spray (0.5 ga/tree). TSM were sampled weekly from 10 Jul (pre-treatment sample) through 7 Aug by collecting five leaflets per replicate. The leaflets were brushed and TSM were counted under magnification (20 X).
