This trial was established in a bulk wheat field planted on 23 Apr. Plot size was 25 ft × 50 ft with a 5 ft alley on all sides of the plot. Treatments were arranged in a RCBD, replicated 4 times and applied in 20 gpa at 40 psi. Tilt and Penncap M were applied separately but within a few minutes of each other. Three treatments were to be made at action levels of 35%, 70% and 90% of infested stems. Aphid populations did not reach the level of 3 per stem so these treatments received no insecticide (ie checks). Yields were taken from a 5 ft × 50 ft strip through the best section of the plot.
