We present a next-to-leading order calculation of single-top productioninterfaced to Shower Monte Carlo programs, implemented according to the POWHEGmethod. A detailed comparison with MC@NLO and PYTHIA is carried out for severalobservables, for the Tevatron and LHC colliders.Comment: Figs. 10, 11 and 12 were obtained without the acceptance cuts described in the text. They have been replaced with the correct one
