Fivebrane instantons and Calabi-Yau fourfolds with flux

Using recent results on eleven-dimensional superspace, we compute thecontribution of fivebrane instantons with four fermionic zeromodes in M-theorycompactifications on Calabi-Yau fourfolds with flux. We find that nosuperpotential is generated in this case. This result is compatible with acertain flux-dependent modification of the arithmetic genus criterion.Comment: 39 pages. v2: amendments in the reference lis
