We compute the photon emission rate of an equilibrated, hot QCD plasma atzero chemical potential, to leading order in both alpha_{EM} and the QCDcoupling g_s(T). This requires inclusion of near-collinear bremsstrahlung andinelastic pair annihilation contributions, and correct incorporation ofLandau-Pomeranchuk-Migdal suppression effects for these processes. Analogousresults for a QED plasma are also included.Comment: 23 pages, including 9 figure
