The methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) surface protein Pls (plasmin sensitive) reduces adhesion to host proteins and cellular invasiveness by an unknown mechanism that requires Pls expression. Here, we tested the effect of Pls expression using different pls-negative backgrounds.
