This paper presents hydrodynamical and radiation-hydrodynamical simulationsof the nickel bubble effect in Type Ia supernovae, comparison of results toself-similar solutions, and application to observations of Type Ia supernovaremnants, with a particular emphasis on Tycho's SNR.
