We investigate the emission process of electromagnetic waves during the coalescence of two parallel current loops, by using the 2D3V, the fully relativistic, electromagnetic particle-in-cell code. A jet-like electron flow together with dense plasma in the magnetic neutral sheet produced by the coalescence of two current loops interacts with the surrounding magnetic field. Then, because of the interacted dense plasma flow, there appear a density gap. Around the region, the jet-like electron flow generates the electron Bernstein mode, and simultaneously the electromagnetic waves (X-mode) are emitted there. We found that the electron Bernstein waves in the dense plasma are converted to the X-mode in the background plasma through the linear mode conversion process due to the density inhomogeneity.
