We have found a dramatic change in the spectra of late-type M dwarfs atwavelengths shorter than 0.75 microns. Comparisons with synthetic spectraillustrate that this change is well explained by the presence of dust. It thusseems that a substantial part of the long-standing discrepancies betweenlate-type M dwarf models and observations arises from dust as recently proposedby Tsuji, Ohnaka and Aoki (1996a).Comment: 9 pages, 5 postscript figs, ApJL accepte
