Most orgnizations make extensive use of forms to conduct daily operations in the office environment. This paper presents a visual approach to end user form management using the principle of “what you sketch is what you get.” The approach involves a design method and its associated algorithms that provide flexible form presentations. The method is supported by facilities for template construction, query construction, query execution and form display. A system was developed to illustrate the concepts and application. The flexible form presentation system simplifies the process of form generation. With this design method, end users can more easily create their own forms and thereby facilitate the implementation of end user computing.
