Active center fractions have been prepared fromRhodopseudomonas spheroides strain Y. (de Klerk) using the cationic detergent cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide and light particles from bacteria grown in two media differing in iron content. Spectral properties and composition of the fractions are presented.
