COMMENTARY Correction for ‘‘Rio Balsas most likely region for maize domestication,’’ by Christine A. Hastorf, which appeared in issue 13, March 31, 2009, of Proc Natl Acad Sci USA (106:4957–4958; first published March 25, 2009; 10.1073/pnas.0900935106). The author notes that on page 4958, in the second column, line 25, the sentence ‘‘The research team has recorded early maize processing associated with dates as early as 6,500 B.P.’’ should instead read ‘‘The research team has recorded early maize processing associated with dates as early as 8,700 B.P.’’
