The author's technique for nasal base reduction continues to be mobilization of the nasal base soft tissues and suturing from one ala to the other. However, he has made some modifications. For example, he advises against performing soft tissue resection of the columellar base tissues, via a buccal sulcus or transfixion approach, in conjunction with an open rhinoplasty. Here, he updates his technique. (Aesthetic Surg J 2002;22:289-291.).
