Breast surgery is a loss leader among aesthetic surgery claims, especially the "skin only" periareolar approach mastopexy technique with implant placement. Rhinoseptoplasty, described here as the aesthetic procedure with the widest gap between patient expectations and results, also may involve significant litigation. The author discusses how to avoid clinical and other situations that can trigger claims. (Aesthetic Surg J 2001;21:569-571.).
