The treatment of breast asymmetry depends on the severity of the condition. Minimal hypoplastic asymmetries can be treated with asymmetrical augmentation; other patients require the addition of skin-envelope adjustments. With severe asymmetries, a 2-stage approach, with extensive soft tissue release plus tissue expansion, is necessary. (Aesthetic Surg J 2001;21:552-561.).
