In this work, the distortion of the Fresnel Zone Plate focusing profile generated by a piston emitter in ultrasound applications is significantly reduced through the use of phase correction rings, which compensate the effect of the piston emitter radiation diagram. Both simulation and experimental results demonstrate the improvement achieved with this design method over the conventional case.In this work, the distortion of the Fresnel Zone Plate focusing profile generated by a piston emitter in ultrasound applications is significantly reduced through the use of phase correction rings, which compensate the effect of the piston emitter radiation diagram.
