Rescigno and Schneider(ref.2), have suggested a simplification in the S−matrix version of Kohn variational method. It is pointed out that their idea works not only for electron−atom/molecule scattering, but also for heavy particle reactive scattering. Applications to atomic hydrogen and fluorine reactions with molecular hydrogen are considered.(AIP)
