The optically pumped polarized H− ion source at TRIUMF reliably produces 20 μA dc of 80% polarized beam within an emittance of 1.0 π mm mrad. The source is now being prepared for an upcoming experiment at TRIUMF (E497) that will measure parity violation in pp scattering at 230 MeV. The laser system upgrade for fast spin flip up to 200 s−1 and simultaneous monitoring of Rb thickness and polarization is described.
