We have fabricated a multi terminal lateral mesoscopic metallic spin valvedemonstrating spin precession at room temperature, using tunnel barriers incombination with metallic ferromagnetic electrodes as spin injector anddetector. The observed modulation of the output signal due to the spinprecession is discussed and explained in terms of a time of flight experimentof electrons in a diffusive conductor. The obtained spin relaxation lengthlambda_{sf}=500 nm in an Al strip will make possible detailed studies of spindependent transport phenomena and allow to explore the possibilities of theelectron spin for new electronic applications at RT.Comment: 3 pages, 3 figures, revtex, submitted to AP
