Objectives: Differentiate the impact of hyperand hypoglycemia on patient outcomes as a patient safety concern Through a review of the data, note the lack of standard in identifying patients and appropriately assigning them to a treatment protocol for glycemic control, leading to unpredictable results Describe THR’s new glycemic control protocol, standardizing patient identification and assignment to and operational monitoring within the appropriate glycemic control protocol Distinguish the roles of the team members, i.e., physicians, pharmacists and nurses, in implementing THR’s new glycemic control protocol
