Robert Smith presents the results of a survey of young members (and some non‐members) carried out by the RAS Membership Committee. Abstract The Membership Committee has been trying to discover what younger members of the Society want from the RAS, and what could be done to attract more young astronomers and geophysicists. This article reports the results of a survey of all members under 30.
